Inkwell vs. Black Iris Blue

Ive had several emails requesting a colour comparison between Black Iris Blue and Inkwell. Also thank you for the emails with requests or appraising this blog. I really appreciate your kind words! Please continue to share this blog with anyone interested in the mens side of Lululemon.

1) Light As Air Short II*SE Frond/Inkwell
2) Pace Breaker Short Frond (accent is black)
3) Pace Breaker Short Inkwell Gingham

Two outfit ideas

Light As Air Tech Black Iris Blue with either Frond or Inkwell Gingham Pace Breaker Shorts.

I have also ordered a heathered inkwell 5 Year Basic Tee to wear with either shorts. I had to order a medium because small was sold out, hopefully it fits fine.

Colour Comparisons!

I would have to say that Inkwell and Black Iris Blue are nearly identical. You can only see up close the slight difference. The Inkwell is slightly more dark, more of a black tone. Its hard to describe the difference because they are so similar. Even between items in the same colour, they slightly vary under natural light or artificial light. I will try and post more comparisons if I can get my hands on more inkwell. Please let me know if there is any other comparisons you want to see.

Fit Review: Focus Crew

Here is the Focus Crew in Size Small

Colour: Kayak Stripes Inkwell/Hampton Blue

Material: Rulu *Light

Price: $98

I loved this item so much. The comfortable Rulu Light feels like butter against the skin (Yes, I just described a shirt as a fatty food item) no other way to describe how comfy this is. The fit is true to size, I am wearing a size small. It even has thumbholes. The only downside was the $98 price tag. Usually Rulu tops are $78 or so, plus this is *Light (thinner then regular Rulu). I really wanted to keep this item but It had to go back, I must keep saving money for my Vegas Trip or Seawheeze! If I can pick one up on markdown, I might get one!

Horrible picture but has some reflective details on the arms.

Fit Review: Focus 1/2 Zip

Here is the Focus Half Zip in Frond

Price: $108

Material: Rulu *Light

Size: Small

Now since Lulu, changed the Small sizing slightly (read about it here, if you haven't yet). I didn't notice any significance in this item compared to my Sprint Half Zip or Studio Half Zip (there is a comparison photo at the bottom). I did notice how this item seemed much longer in the body and arms. It stretches!

Thumbholes are back!

I also tried this item on in a size Medium and found it to be too big! This item is true to size.

Comparison to the Studio 1/2 Zip. I did notice the width is just over a cm smaller and the length is about one inch longer. Other then that, no differences.

Not sure I am going to keep this yet, I want some type of Frond Top.

Fit Review: Element Jacket

I have a couple of fit/product reviews coming up in the next few posts. I would just like to say how incredibly happy I am with the latest mens gear that has been released. I have noticed a bit of decline in quality and the lack of products through the Fall/Winter of 2012. With the spring stuff starting to appear in stores, I am starting to love each item. I noticed many of the items are now fitting longer (both the sleeves and body length, better for the tall ones) as well as the return of thumbholes.

This is the Element Jacket in Inkwell

Retails for $198

Material: Commuter Softshell

This jacket was definitely worth the price, there was so many little features which made the product unique. It meets the requirements of being "technical but yet fashionable" which Lulu follows. I am wearing a medium in this jacket, normally I wear a small. I prefer it to be a bit looser so its easier to move or wear a layer underneath. I would say this jacket would be great on spring/summer/fall days when its a rainy or a bit windy. Would need to wear something underneath on some of the colder days.

Hood is non removable or storable. I wish there was some reflective details on the back. Unless I missed them, I will take a look at it again. Also long enough to cover the behind. They really took the ideas from the Chillstop Jacket to a whole new level!

Double Zipper.

The cuffs fold over to reveal some reflective details. This was a neat feature!

The pocket flap also folds over to reveal more reflective detail.

I haven't been this excited for a jacket in a while!...

Two side zippers allow access to some breathability. Great for staying cool indoors when you don't want to take your jacket off.

Closeup on the pocket flap and reflective detailing.

Overal view of the jacket with reflective details open.

I really really really want to buy this!
